2 Competition Guidelines

2.1 This page contains the comprehensive rules governing gameplay and conduct. Whilst we have endeavoured to ensure all rules provide adequate guidance to meet all eventualities, instances may occur where teams feel that further guidance is needed. In such an event, contact a member of the Admin Team.

2.2 All competitors involved in Gfinity are expected to know and understand all of the rules. Not knowing that a rule existed is not an excuse for breaking that rule.

2.3 Any rule being broken may lead to disciplinary action. This action will be at the discretion of the Admin(s) involved, and the situation will be taken into account. Punishment may include, but not be limited to, forfeits, replays, penalty points, kicks, temporary and permanent bans.

2.4 Your Gamertag/PSN must match that displayed on your team roster. It is both teams responsibility to check rosters before a match is played; any issues should be reported to an admin.

2.5 If a players Gamertag/PSN is incorrect, you will be disqualified from the cup.

2.6 All participants in any Gfinity competition will be required to uphold to the highest standards and observe common sportsmanship. Racism will NOT be tolerated. If you are seen to be racist then you will have action taken against you. Being abusive in any way towards fellow players or admins will also result in disciplinary action.

2.7 We highly recommend that all players appear offline and set their Friends List to Private during the Cup. However, players are not required to do either of these things.

2.8 Any form of cheating, glitching, abusing in-game mechanics, or unsportsmanlike behaviour may result in a forfeit of a Map, Match, or Ban from Gfinity Events. Punishable unsportsmanlike behaviour includes, but is not limited to, excessive use of foul or degrading language. In addition, breaking any rule may result in a forfeit of a Round/Map, forfeit of a Match, Verbal Warning or Ban from Gfinity Events.

2.9 Gfinity Staff reserve the right to stream any match in this competition. If your team's match is chosen, you are to cooperate fully with the staff that are in your match.

2.12 Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Finals match format will be best of 2 games (scores added together for final score) + Silver Goal and then Golden Goal if needed.

3.3 The following settings must be used:

Half Length: 6 Minutes
Controls: All

4 Kick Off Glitch

4.1 All variations of the kick off glitch are banned. As such, the following two points must be adhered to:
4.2 From kick-off, you must pass the ball backwards before passing the edge of the centre circle.
4.3 After passing back, you must not use LB+Y (Xbox) or L1+Triangle (PS) in order to pass the ball to a forward player.
4.4 If your opponent uses this glitch save the attempt and report it to the Admins providing evidence that the glitch was used. The player that used the kick off glitch will be disqualified from the cup if the evidence is sufficient

5 Host

5.1 If you are unable to connect to your opponent you must contact an admin ASAP. Failure to do so could mean disqualification for both teams.

5.2 When having problems with connection we advise both players, after contacting an admin, to reset their connections and Xbox One, If further problems still occur an admin will deal with the situation via the FIFA Xbox Cup Chatroom.

5.3 If you or your opponent lags out during the match; the match must be re-started, however, the score and time at the point when the player disconnected shall still stand. In the new game, the score will carry over, and the remainder of the match should be played out. For example, if player one is 2-0 up against player two, but then lags out in the 53rd minute. The match will then be re-started and played up until the 37th minute with player two winning 2-0.

6 Reporting

6.1 Both teams must report the Match results within 10 minutes of its completion.

6.2 To report the Match results, teams must report the Match Score accurately, with overall games won being reported. For example, the Match Score can be reported as 3-0, 3-1, etc. Reporting the individual points for each game is optional.

6.3 How do I report scores?

To report scores for a competition:

Click 'Menu' located at the top of every page
Click 'My Results'
Locate the fixture you wish to report a score for
Enter result

6.4 The report score function will only display 15 minutes after the designated start time of the fixture

6.5 Both teams must enter the result.

6.6 If two teams/players enter the result differently, a member of the Admin Team will be notified of the discrepancy and will intervene.

6.7 Teams/players found to be deliberately misentering results may face disciplinary action from the Admin Team.

6.8 If a Match is not played, and neither team reports a No Show, awarding of the Match win will be decided by a Gfinity Staff member.

6.9 With your camera or phone, take a video or picture of the online friendlies screen with the points awarded, then upload it to your preferred video host, and send to the admin dealing with your issue. Another example of strong evidence would be your opponents kick off after a goal has been scored. Video evidence is preferred over picture although both are taken.

6.10 If a Screenshot(s) or Video(s) is needed in order to resolve a dispute, you must clearly state what the issue is, the time in the video in which the issue occurred, and/or what the Gfinity Staff member should be looking at in the Screenshot/Video. For all cheating claims, the burden of proof is on the accuser.
