AS Roma unveil partnership with Fnatic
This will be Roma’s first entry into the esports industry and by entering the FIFA scene, they have followed the path of other football teams, such as PSG, Manchester City and West Ham United.
British player Sam “Poacher” Carmody will be teaming alongside four-year veteran Aman “Aman” Seddiqi and Nicoló “Insa” Mirra, as well Colin Johnson, who will act as the team manager. They will all play under the Roma banner while Fnatic will manage the players, offer support for training & events and provide all esports-related logistical knowledge to nurture them. Aman will also be the first American player to be signed by a European club.
In a statement released on the AS Roma website, Anan said “Not many opportunities like this come around, especially with FNATIC powering the team. They also have a huge social reach that I can learn from and increase the stature of my own brand. I can't wait to have a great, long-term relationship with both Roma and FNATIC. Also, it's an honour to be the first American to be signed by a European club”.
Aman will make his debut with AS Roma at the FUT Championship Series in Miami, taking place on the 19th of Feburary.
