Team EnVyUs join the Elite Series

Yesterday, we revealed the first batch of professional teams set to compete in our dynamic new eSports competition, the Gfinity Elite Series, as we unveiled excel eSportsReason GamingProphecy and Team Infused as your official representatives of the United Kingdom.

Today, we’re delighted to introduce you to the first international team, as we welcome one of the most successful and storied eSports organisations to the Elite Series, Team EnVyUs.

The agreement will see Team EnVyUs in the inaugural Gfinity Elite Series taking place live at London’s Gfinity Arena from 26th May-30th July 2017. The addition of Team EnVyUs clearly elevates the Gfinity Elite Series to the next level which will further establish the UK as a leading market in global eSports while developing the next generation of professional gamers.

Having won over $1.9m in prize money in the last 18 months, the recently-crowned International Team of the Year, Team EnVyUs are the fifth team of eight to be announced in the Gfinity Elite Series, joining the best of the best home-grown UK eSports organisations including excel eSports, Reason Gaming, Prophecy and Infused.The Gfinity Elite Series will see each eSports organisation field teams for Rocket League, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Street Fighter V in what is set to be the UK’s showpiece eSports tournament, delivering intense action and unrivalled entertainment at London’s Gfinity Arena.

Amateur gamers dreaming of a career as a professional now have a chance of joining Team EnVyUs or one of the UK’s top eSports organisations. Preceding the Gfinity Elite Series is the Gfinity Challenger Series, a dynamic new online competitive gaming tournament, where players and teams can showcase their skills and climb their way to the top of leaderboards. Gamers will play to earn ‘G-Points’ which could see them qualify for the Gfinity Elite Draft, and ultimately get selected to play in a professional team during the Gfinity Elite Series. In a move to further develop and grow the UK eSports scene, the tournament will see professional teams pick two players for each game title to add to their existing roster (48 players in total).
