Breakdown

  • Epic Games is adding Kendrick Lamar's "All The Stars" as a Jam Track in Fortnite Festival
  • The rapper is currently in an ongoing beef with fellow artist Drake, with both dropping several diss tracks in recent weeks
  • "All The Stars" features a direct diss towards Drake which fans were mostly unaware

Remember how we mentioned that the alleged leaked bundle based on the ongoing beef between rappers Kendrick Lamar and Drake was fake and that neither was coming to Fortnite? Well, that was partially incorrect, as K-Dot is making his way to the game.

Now don't get your hopes up, there isn't a Kendrick Lamar skin planned for the foreseeable future, but the rapper will have a song featured in Fortnite Festival, the rhythm-based game developed by Harmonix that can be accessed by login into the main battle royale mode.

As revealed by leaker HYPEX on social media, Kendrick Lamar will have his song "All The Stars" featured in Fortnite Festival in the near future. The track was a collaboration with SZA and was created for Marvel's tentpole film Black Panther, with Lamar producing the full soundtrack for the movie as well.

Although the song gained popularity for its inclusion in the superhero flick, the ongoing feud between Kendrick and Drake, which has escalated to new heights in recent weeks, has made fans rediscover the track, finding out it features a not-so-subtle diss towards Drake.

Drake congratulated Kendrick in 2017 when his album "DAMN" outsold Drake's "More Life" on the charts. Both albums were released earlier that year and rap fans were pushing the narrative of both artists fighting for bragging rights as the number one rapper in the world.

It would appear that Lamar had already developed a strong feeling of dislike towards Drake, as 2018's "All The Stars" features a very clear diss towards his colleague in a strong verse where Kendrick talks about not wanting someone's congratulations and hating entitled people who ooze false confidence, at one point even bluntly stating: "motherf*cker, I don't even like you."

Currently, both artists have made allegations against each other regarding serious issues such as domestic abuse and sexual assault, among many other heinous things. The diss tracks drops have reportedly stopped after a shooting occurred outside Drake's mansion which ended with one of his security guards injured. Authorities are aware of the ongoing beef but can't confirm if the incident is tied to it.

Regardless of who you choose to believe in the ongoing drama, one thing's for sure - the beef will forever be immortalised in Fortnite of all places.
