This frees up an equipment slot and makes things a lot more convenient.

The Illuminator Recipe

Before crafting the Illuminator, you'll need to unlock the recipe. Here's how to do it:

Survival Mode

• Catch a Purple Thermal Fish. Head to the desert biome with your trusty Fishing Rod. These fish are more likely to appear there, but you can check our guide for all fish locations in LEGO Fortnite for a more detailed picture. Consider using a Bait Bucket to increase your chances of catching one.
• Upgrade your Crafting Bench twice. This unlocks the Illuminator recipe.

Sandbox Mode

• Open your inventory and select the All Items menu.
• Under the Equipment tab, locate the yellow Illuminator icon.

How to craft the Iluminator

Once you have the recipe unlocked, gather the following materials:

• 5 Purple Thermal Fish: Found primarily in the desert biome.
• 3 Wool Thread: Obtained by turning Wool from Sheep into Wool Thread using the Spinning Wheel.
• 10 Glass: Use a Shovel to dig up sand in the desert biome. Smelt the sand in a Metal Smelter to create Glass.
• 10 Brightcore: Found in the desert biome's Lava Caves with magma.

Head to your base's Crafting Bench (ensure it's upgraded to the rare level - green and gray with a sturdier look). Once there, you'll see the Illuminator recipe available for crafting. Use the gathered materials to create your very own Illuminator.
