Destiny's popular Christmas event, The Dawning, is set to return in 2020 – and after the year we've had, it would be fair to say we need a season of good cheer.
The event has taken a few different forms over the years, but here's what we do know so far.

Destiny 2: The Dawning 2020 Start Date
Thanks to Bungie's content roadmap reveal we know that The Dawning will kick off on December 15, and will run until January 5.
The event is available to all Destiny 2 players, even those playing the free "New Light" version.
Destiny 2: The Dawning 2020 Info
Over the years, The Dawning has offered multiple content types.
In its initial incarnation, back in Destiny 1, it offered strike scoring and Sparrow Racing, an event that was surprisingly fun.
Since then things have gotten a little... weirder.
In 2017, players were tasked with handing gifts to NPCs in the Tower, but for the last two years, these have been replaced by holiday cookies and cakes that players bake in "Eva's Holiday Oven".
With such delights as Infinite Forest Cake and Gjallardoodles, it's a fun way to interact with other characters but we'd rather see something new for 2020.
That said, we've had the Haunted Forest Halloween event for three years in a row, so who knows.
Destiny 2: The Dawning Recipes
Bungie has confirmed that Eva Levante will return once more with recipes aplenty for guardians to cook.
"A delicious holiday treat has a few requirements: a handy recipe, the finest ingredient materials for you to gather, and a primed Holiday Oven. New vendors and seasonal rewards await!"

New Legendary Weapon - Glacioclasm
Bungie's official Dawning event website has confirmed that the game will be adding a new Legendary Fusion Rifle called the Glacioclasm.
"Earn the new Legendary Fusion Rifle Glacioclasm and show the enemies of humanity that, even though this is a season of forgiveness, the forecast still calls for pain."
How will players be able to earn this new weapon? That's not clear, it could be a new quest, it could be tied to Eva Levante's recipes. We'll have to wait until the event begins on Tuesday, December 15.
New Cosmetic Rewards
Armour ornaments are coming for all three classes (which you can see in the trailer below), but there are also new ships and ghosts to earn.

Destiny 2: The Dawning 2020 Trailer
The Destiny 2 Dawning 2020 Trailer finally arrived on December 10.
"Even the biting chill of Europa can’t freeze the warm hearts of Guardians during this special time of year. Eva Levante welcomes you to the Tower to learn a new recipe, to find an unexpected gift or two, and maybe shred a rail in your tricked-out Sparrow while you’re at it. Gear up, gift up, and stay frosty, because The Dawning has returned."
